I am really happy to share this special video with you today.
Domenico Scarlatti is one of the reason I love classical guitar. It could seem a bit paradoxical since he wrote his sonatas for keyboard. But when a transcription is masterfully done like this Sonata K.545 by Gérard Abiton, it always brings great pleasure (and difficulty !) to the player.
Enjoy ! :)

The transcription is not published yet.

Domenico Scarlatti - Sonata K.545
Transcription by Gérard Abiton
Performed by Antoine Boyer

Guitar made by Christian Koehn

The counterpoint in this piece is mind-blowingly complex. He doesn’t miss a single note.

How much PCP has Trump, Jr. done in his life?

It always weirds me out to see Primary Care Physician abbreviated as PCP. When I was in junior high, PCP was the chemical abbreviation for the drug known colloquially as Angel Dust.

But of all the tours, I’d recommend the Library of Congress if you’re an architecture geek, White House for the thrill, and Capitol for the political geeks (and the odds are you will see quite a few notables walking the halls).

I grew up listening to a very wide collection of classical music, was studying music in college and have played in symphony orchestras.

Got a kick out of that picture since I played brass instruments, specializing in French horns, so seeing the bang about to happen behind the f horns reminded me of similar experiences.

Lost hearing in one ear which put a damper on my ambitions. To be fair, I also encountered some folks whose talent blew me away and made me question my ability to compete.

But I’ve retained my love of performance and the difference between listening versus creating.

Ah, see, in another life, I was a percussionist. Trust me when I say we relished those moments where we could really lay into the drums and shock the ever-loving shit out of our brass-wielding friends immediately to our front (and the band director, despite her ALSO being a percussionist). I haven’t touched a pair of sticks in a good 15 years, which is sad, but I have no doubt that a couple of hours would put me right back in service.

Fun performance-related story: I played the drumset for our small rural Indiana church when I was in high school and college. When I went to college, though, it was only for the time when I was home; one of my friends picked up the sticks in my absence. He wasn’t bad, per se, but the difference was notable, specifically in the volume department. One weekend, I was home visiting my folks, and I thought I’d check in on my compadre. They were playing one of my favorite songs, and when they finished the rehearsal, I was like, “No, Tony, you need to really PLAY it. Here, let me show you.” And I sat down and proceeded to beat the ever-loving tar out of the church’s drumset. The entire band turned around after the song, and they were all like, “Oh, that’s not Tony! We wondered what had gotten into him, we’ve never heard him play like that in his life!”

My son this year in is senior year was the leader of the clarinet section in his marching band. It wasn’t a role he sought or wanted. He asked to be switched to the percussion section because he’s ok at some minor roles there but really because he just loves the fun that they have when they play.

I played the clarinet briefly; I switched to drums because I was picked on for playing a “girl’s instrument”. I wound up winning first chair on a pure technicality; as a left-handed person, my strokes were more even between hands as compared to my right-handed competitor, who played the set a lot, as opposed to high school band percussion instruments.

Strictly speaking, what you said is true. No matter what they actually do, as long as Republicans profess to be Christians and use the right ritual words, 40% of the country will vote for them. While that doesn’t seem like it should be enough for them to retain power, it is as long as they have the ability to gerrymander the Congressional representation in their favor, and can retain control of the Supreme Court to prevent sanity and rationality from enforcing neutral third-party electoral map committees.

From what I’ve heard from my twitter mutuals over there, Boris and his party have pretty much made the NHS totally unusable for the Trans Community. The biggest complaint is wait times for consultations. In some cases, people have waited years for something that should have only taken 5-7 months by the NHS’s own rules. Forcing many Trans Women to crowd fund for private service or just plain go without help.

TFG isn’t the only one. There are several main stream evangelical groups (Fischer and the Family Research Council for one) who are funding like minded people in G.B. The so called LGBa outfit was one of the main propagators of Trans Women are going to make Lesbians extinct or we are “forcing” ourselves onto them. Scare mongering attacks on Trans Women. It is, to the best of my knowledge, funded by the FRC. Typical wedge issue to drive us away from the others.

Clarinet here. Also found I did not have it in me to go professional, so did Music Ed in College, U of I.

Ryan’s right, the proper way to handle the press is putting them fenced-in “press pits” during campaign rallies, regularly insulting reporters, and then forgoing press conferences altogether to instead force them to try to record you over the din of a Marine helo spinning up as you run off yet again to one of your golf courses for the weekend.

Republicans won in Virginia with awful, extremist candidates and there was no pro-Republican gerrymandering that I’m aware of. But I get your overall point.

It’s windy and raining pretty hard. Maui is getting the worst of it though. Airport is lights out.

It’s been quite the opposite, Virginia has been going blue in recent elections because VA Dems have been able to counteract efforts by VA Repubs to gerrymander the map in their favor. What happened last month had nothing to do with gerrymandering and everything to do with taking voters for granted.

The people marching are those that think they are actually going to have to fight. And if I thought I was going to fight my own government, I certainly wouldn’t sport a gut.

It’s true, she’s more familiar with fascists showing up in polos with tiki torches.

Reality Winner made some bad decisions and trusted the wrong people, but I think she was trying to do the right thing and be a genuine whistleblower, unlike Edward Snowden.

To this day, I believe he was turned by Russian Intel while in Geneva. Everything after that date was at his handler’s directions.
