Full Video: President Biden’s Strong Statement on Protecting Voting Rights and Election Integrity

Youtube Video

He does not mince words in this one, and even drops the political nuclear bomb — getting rid of the filibuster. Finally. It’s the only way forward with the Republican Party the way it is, degraded and dominated by a would-be dictator.

(I cued up the video to start at Biden’s speech.)

A word(le) of warning.

The bogus version, called “Wordle - The App” is a copycat of the real thing, bar one crucial change: it asks users to pay a US$30 annual subscription.
The genuine version of Wordle is only available through a mobile website.

I was just thinking how simple it would be to code something like Wordle; actually not surprised that somebody went ahead and did it.

Sort of the coding equivalent of the pet rock.

Wow, just checked the app store and it isn’t just one copy - there are pages of them now.

They must not have trademarked the name Wordle, or maybe it was already in existence as a generic name. Although I’d never heard it before and I do love my word games.

But in this case I’d hazard a guess that the name is a play on the name of the original’s creator, Josh Wardle.

Took me 6 to get today’s word. I got careless and re-used a letter I shouldn’t have, plus it’s a US-specific spelling.

As much as it pains me to defend Kroger, margins on groceries are usually pretty low. That 10% discount probably means employees are getting a lot of items at or near cost.

On the other hand, I will NOT defend Kroger for their practice of not paying their employees enough. That shit needs to change.

Well, despite her mother’s and my reservations, my daughter flew to Nebraska to spend a week visiting a friend in Lincoln. She came back sick with a runny nose and a cough. She tested herself three times in recent days for Covid and the tests were negative. She’s going to take the Vault test next.

Her mother just got back from picking her up at the airport and dropping her at her apartment. According to my wife, my daughter was triple-masked for the flight and the ride from the airport, and they drove with all the windows down. My wife’s researching acquiring a Vault test, and will shortly be locking herself away in her realms. My son and I will be hiding out in our respective retreats in the house and minimizing contact - especially unmasked - with my wife for a few days.

I’m hoping what my daughter has caught isn’t Covid, but given the prevalence and transmissibility of Omicron, it wouldn’t surprise me.

My nose started pouring out on Tuesday last week and has resolved into something like lingering bronchitis. No fever and I tested twice on rapid tests negative. Son 2 tested positive this morning, so he’s on 5-day isolation from school, but nothing more than a scratchy throat. Wife and Son 1 are negative. Wife is HCW and was told that as long as she’s asymptomatic she should go to work with her elderly clients. Shit’s fucked up. I’ll be calling my PCP tomorrow for guidance and hopefully something to block this cough. Doesn’t help that it’s -10F with wind chill here.

I first heard his name in a FB comment a couple days ago by a braindead Trump supporter, a FOAF: “Who killed Ashli Babbitt? The filibuster in concept is there within however the parliamentary rules of order in the Senate work.* What is being challenged is this much too simple ‘I object’ obstruction capability - which is something that they can abolish if they want to.

* - I was taught that Rules of Order are there so that the majority can prevail while the minority is still allowed to be heard. Usual supermajority requirement things were those that could serious affect member’s rights and privileges.

I have terrible cell access, so I just ran out of my house into the 1F cold to talk to a guy in India who confirmed that I need to create a new account but he couldn’t explain why it happened. I have no weird purchases on my cc, and my browsing history is correct. I put the $10 sony headphones that Charles showed us in my cart, but never purchased. That disappeared, too. Anyway, I have a lost email account through my grad school that I used to use, so maybe that’s the reason (I got a new computer and lost the account in the data transfer and never recovered it since I didn’t use it much; it might have been the one connected, but the guy wouldn’t confirm because I couldn’t remember the exact address).

What I fear is that a new Covid strain will evolve that preferentially attacks young, healthy people. That demographic is certainly turning into an easier and more available route of transmission, thanks to the Satan/genocide party and their degenerate shills.
I do not know how increased lethality would benefit a virus in evolutionary terms but this exact thing happened with the 1918 flu.

As did I. I got them when I was reading this article a couple of days ago. We’ll see if they come. I’m expecting delay notices.

Yeah, stock is down everywhere. My usual source hasn’t shipped the order yet, and it’s been almost two weeks.(Fortunately, I tend to overorder, so I’m fine at the moment…)

I took a cool rapid test today called Ellume. Made in Australia. Emergency approval in the US. Yes, I had to download/log into app with my info. Do a nose swab (set up so you have to push brush in deep & swirl) then you add the juice provided. Then 5 drops of juice into this plastic bar that connected to Bluetooth. 15 min later = negative.

Amazing technology.

I do still feel crappy. But not sustained crappy. Comes in waves so….

Such a wild ride.

If the word about reusability (you can use each mask up to three times) is correct, then mine should last the rest of my life, since I’m away fro my home for no more than hour or two a day and I count one use as eight hours wearing — thus, one mask should last three week or so.

I expect I’m not as cautious as some of the folks here, since even with omicron, our rate of positive tests — and we do a lot of testing — is still around 5%. (To all the online morons who say vaccinating and social distancing don’t work, we provide a counterexample.)

I tend to rotate my masks (stick it in a paper bag after use and let it lay fallow for 3-5 days). And since I’m like you, spend a half hour to an hour out of my house, that lasts a while.

They are not kidding. They are out for blood. They are out for killing many many people, including those within their own families who will not comply with the new order of things after 2025.

Their core belief is that the victors write history and create reality. Everything else is secondary.

When ever they are bitching about their livelihoods and businesses shutdown or destroyed by liberals/Fauci/commies/Biden/whatever…

I swear Magats are going to give me a fucking stroke. The government didn’t do that, the virus did, and it probably was able to because assholes like them refuse to take any precautions at all dragging the whole thing out beyond what any business or individual should ever reasonably be expected to prepare for.

I’ve been able to sit on my ass safe at home for most of it. You know why? Because I cashed out my retirement fund. I shouldn’t have had to do that, especially not at 47 years old. No one should be expected to do that or anything similar either. Magat’s may have literally gotten me killed with their freedumb bullshit if I didn’t though. As it stands now, I need to start looking for a job in this omicron wave, and if I don’t inherit my father’s current house when the time comes in the future, I’m going to be FUCKED and have no retirement. But I’m alive.

Mandates and shutdowns aren’t taking your freedom, the virus is. The virus is being dragged out by the people yelling about their freedoms the most, therefore, they are the ones taking their freedom and MINE, and yours. I really hope people remember this.

I’m watching a video of Rachael Maddow, and she showed the official certificates from five states (Arizona among them). Then she showed the five forged certificates, and golly gee whiz, it looks like they used the same freaking template!

My 8 year old grand niece, fully vaccinated, attends parochial school in Chicago, so they were not subject to the disagreements between CPS and the Mayor, that have just been settled. Everyone is masked. Students are tested weekly. The school does have modern ventilation, due to recent remodeling of the building.

On Friday, her teacher collapsed in the classroom. It turns out that she has COVID. The students returned to class on Monday with no change in rules. It’s just a matter of waiting to see how many others may be infected.

“Mr. Meadows received text messages and emails regarding apparent efforts to encourage Republican legislators in certain States to send alternate slates of electors to Congress, a plan which one Member of Congress acknowledged was ‘highly controversial’ and to which Mr. Meadows responded, ‘I love it,’” the committee report said.

“Mr. Meadows responded to a similar message by saying ‘[w]e are’ and another such message by saying ‘Yes. Have a team on it,’” it said.

Maybe the Committee has made the team members an offer.

I believe that the Federalist Society is behind the production of the templates. This organization has poisoned the judiciary since it came into being. John Eastman, the author of the infamous memo on how to overthrow the election, is an luminary of the Society. Cleta Mitchell, the lawyer on Trump’s call to Raffensperger, is also a member.
