A followup to Amy Siskind’s tweet from the last thread.

Looks like there are some former friends of Sinema’s that are ready to do a little damage. Good.

I’m hoping that the 1-6 roll-up gathers momentum and goes on until it destroys the entire right wing eco-system, right down to the MLM, house-flipper and gold bug industries.

He decided he wasn’t welcome at LGF. Sent me an email letting me know he was gone.

Sigh. I’m sorry. I know that one was probably my fault. Boy, I’m just really striking out right and left this past week or two.

Nah. He’s played this before, again and again. Great guy (I met him and took him out to dinner when he was passing through here a few years ago), but some people are just determined to find reasons to take offense no matter what we all say. Joe Bacon was the same way, and I miss him too.

Speaking of putting up with people, we had our first CERT meeting in two years. And the one (retired) doctor we have on the team is a full on right wing wacko. All the Covid numbers are inflated. They counted people dying in car crashes as having Covid. It’s the comorbidities. It’s like she completely discounts all those people that have died. I tried to counter, but there’s only so much when she’s a doctor. At least most of them we partially agreeing. And one guy was reminding them that he had two people die from the virus.

What, there’s more?

Tomorrow I had a breakfast date, which has been canceled due to an exposure, a fever, and an awaited test result. I’m ‘on call’ at work. The person I’m most likely to cover for took a test today. I think my birthday has been canceled. Put off would be OK. ‘Til next year…

LGF at one time was where you called out/were called out & then fought back.

It was the wild west! I liked it actually.

I love it now, but we’ve tamed.

Once again, the media does its finest job to make conservative intransigence a Dem problem, because the Republicans are always treated as always right and proper by default.

People here occasionally make hurtful comments, sometimes inadvertently not realizing how they will be interpreted or sometimes out of ire in response to remarks of others. We are all on edge because of the endless pandemic and the deliberate efforts of certain GOP officials to prolong the pandemic, the MSM irresponsible handling of the Biden administration, the efforts to undermine our democracy — every day we are living in a nightmare that we thought had ended with Trump’s defeat.

I hope that he reconsiders his decision. He’s contributed a lot to the discourse here.

re: #27 jaunte

But SCOTUS says Covid is not an occupational hazard.

Bull-SHIT! I want to take those numbnuts and have them sit in the room over at the data center that I worked in prior to March 2020, do my job sans masks (really masks and headsets do not go together) and not get sick.

For the record, before I logged off work sick Thursday, I’d just gotten an email from our chief operating officer stating that the return to office program had been suspended for now and no date yet for its resumption. I have to wonder if the Rona is sweeping through large congregate groups of people (e.g., people who work in various agent roles—banker, fraud) & who are required to work in the office.

And in completely other news, we have “little rocket man” apparently popping off missiles into the Sea of Japan:

Japan’s government says North Korea has launched what may have been a ballistic missile.

Japan’s defense ministry announced at 3 P.M. on Friday that the North had fired the projectile.

Officials from the Japanese Coast Guard say it may have already landed. Prime Minister Kishida has called for a prompt investigation of the launch.

This is the third time North Korea has fired a projectile since the start of the year.

www3.nhk.or.jp

I think it’s the second time this week NK has sent a missile over the Sea of Japan. Dunno what Kim Jong Un thinks he’s doing here.

re: #28 mmmirele

Kim is sabre rattling for two reasons:
1) Internal show that NK is powerful enough the superpowers out to kill it are afraid to act. Also shows that he continues to back funding the military heavily.

2) Waving red flag at China, Japan, and the USA saying “Look how dangerous I am” since every time NK has done that in the past twenty years they get “negotiations” which end up in he being given things in exchange for behaving for a few years or supposedly cutting back on weapon development programs.
