1. A Russian embedded reporter was most likely the source of the mortar’s location.
2. But also, the mortar stayed in the same location for at least a day. And if that mortar fired, ‘FireFinder’ radar can back plot the location from the shell’s trajectory within seconds. If the Ukrainians have the digital communications, targeting information can be set to Fire Direction Center and then to the gun line within minutes.
3. And of course there are also drones.
4. No matter how they got the data, the Ukrainians successfully hit the mortar and destroyed it. Impressive and very speedy intelligence and targeting!
5. The Russians brought in the heavy mortar to destroy Ukrainian fortifications that their standard artillery could not. The area has been a frontline for 8 years and both sides are heavily dug in and fortified.

If you go onto a third-party site and book for Sunday, then your check-in time is for Sunday afternoon. Bear this in mind when browsing those sites, as their systems generally roll over to the following day at 12am, meaning any availability you see after midnight is not for that exact moment. Failure to heed this can lead to everything from feeling like a fool when you learn the hotel is sold-out to full-blown Karenhood when you find out that you can’t check-in at 2am for a reservation that’s not valid until 3pm because hotel policy does not allow early check-ins.

Yeah, I’ll get variations of that from time to time, people walking in before the crack of dawn to tell me that their flight/drive went quicker than they expected. Interesting story…
A Ukrainian civilian saw a group of men burying something. So he notified the Ukrainian police. Who went out and dug it up. They found a large amount of explosives and 10 ak-47 style rifles with munition. The rifles were of Iranian manufacture.
It appears that the rifles were supposed to be smuggled to the Houthis of Yemen by the Iranians. But they were instead seized by the Americans. Who gave them to the Ukrainians. Well, based upon my experience, most hotels in the US won’t check a reservation in without the guest being physically present with valid ID and whatever method(s) of payment are approved to cover any incidents/security deposit/etc. Likewise we require some form of guarantee, generally a valid credit card, that can be charged a deposit in order to hold the room. Beyond that is the discretion of the hotel, but my experience is they’ll honor outstanding reservations until at least normal check-out the following day.

My parents weren’t legally married until I was 13 years old and we moved to Texas, where there was common law marriage. (Long story about how the officiant at the wedding never filed the license and died the next week.) My parents got a “certificate of informal partnership” in 1996 in case Social Security got weird about the lack of paperwork around their marriage. At the end of this very long story (I’m leaving things out), my mother told me, “Oh, and by the way I misspelled your name on the birth certificate.” At that point I was 36 years old and changing my name was kind of out of the question, but I felt free to use a nickname at work after that point.

I remember getting a questionnaire from the archdiocese when a divorced Baptist friend was getting an annulment so that his wife to be could have the proper church marriage her family demanded. My grandmother was excommunicated by the Catholic Church for divorcing and remarrying. This was back in the 1920’s when divorce was not recognized by the Catholic church and they saw her as a serial adulteress for remarrying.
My father’s mother was widowed when I was a kid. During my last visit with her (I was about 20), she was living with her boyfriend because he was divorced, so they couldn’t marry.

There has been increasing opposition in the America First wing of the GOP. If the GOP wins control of Congress in the midterms, next year they will cut off Ukrainian aid by demanding dollar for dollar cuts in domestic spending to pay for it. So we need to get as much aid to Ukraine as we can ASAP so they can defeat Russia this year.
The traditional neo-con wing also favors cutting domestic spending so no matter the rationale, we are facing dark days ahead if the GOP gains control of either House.
