Alex Jones Defamation Trial: The Moment Jones Finds Out His Lawyers Sent All His Texts and Emails to the Plaintiffs’ Lawyers

Crime • Views: 22,655

This was an absolutely incredible moment at Alex Jones’s trial today, when he learned that his crack(head) legal team accidentally sent copies of all his texts and emails to the lawyers for the Sandy Hook parents.

And in this recorded video from the trial, Jones agrees with the plaintiffs’ lawyers that he’s been making at least $300 MILLION a year spreading hatred, lies, and disgusting conspiracy theories. I can’t even.

§ Alex Jones Trial TL;DR:
“Irony jumps the tracks, careens down the embankment, crashes through a circus, hurdles over a mink farm, and plows into the river where it catches fire, rolls over, and explodes raining down burning weasels and flaming clown shrapnel across the countryside.”
— Jim Wright

Kentucky has $2.7 billion in its rainy day fund, so the emergency in Eastern Kentucky couldn’t be a more appropriate use.

I am 100% positive the Alex Jones texts fiasco will lead directly to Criminal charges being filed against Jones and numerous others, probably within the Trump orbit, with matters not related to this particular case.

The torpedoes definitely found their mark, though, and now it looks like Jones might be lined up in the crosshairs of perjury charges, as well as whatever shit his phone has on it that implicates him in the 1/6 insurrection.

Jones’s lawyer is probably calling his firm’s malpractice insurance carrier right about now, and probably polishing up whatever turd of a resumé he has.

I mean, what was the best possible outcome Jones could have hoped for?

(Before the phone fiasco, that is).

A ruling that he could contest/appeal? Did he really think there would be some stalwart “enlightened” Info Warriors on the jury panel who would let him off?

At this point, “letting him off” wasn’t an option; he’s guilty of defaming the families by way of default judgment. He was hoping that filing for bankruptcy would shield him from the damages; failing that, he appears to have been falling back on the “I believed it was true at the time” defense, but the judge was having none of that.

From what I’ve been able to gather, in Texas, there is no rule against inadvertent disclosure; if you send sensitive materials to your opposing counsel, woopsy, too bad, so sad, that’s now fair game in the litigation. What’s worse is, now, the police no longer have to obtain a search warrant for the phone; if they want to charge Jones with something, and use the texts as evidence, they can subpoena the records from this attorney, and he can comply. Jones’s lawyer may have inadvertently sent his client to jail… IN A CIVIL CASE.

Who is supposed to answer the juror questions? An attorney on each side? Or are the questions directed to a specific attorney with the other allowed to rebut? How does this work?

Jury questions are directed to the witness on the stand, in this case, Jones himself. Texas law allows for civil juries to ask each witness questions of their own.

yang is saying you all “should” make room for us
not how it works
besides, you’re not really anything yet but an announcement

go out and do the hard work of developing platforms and positions, then communicating them to the voters and attracting support

if people like what you have to say, you’re in.

if you’re not getting the support, then no one wants what youre selling.

imo much the same way some say politicians are too old, they should ‘make room’.
basically by retiring / not running.

to give an advantage to new/fresh talent that cant (yet) make it head to head by getting more votes on their own.

problem is more people are voting for those older people
because enough voters want what they’re selling

This. All of this.

If Jones thinks he’s going to get off with a slap on the wrist, he should be sadly mistaken.

The families should get compensated from every last dollar this creep and thug and his associates enabled at InfoWars have taken in since Sandy Hook. Every last dollar.

And his problems just begin there, because he made a bankruptcy filing with the express intent to try and deny the families the compensation they deserve, and that violates bankruptcy code provisions too.

Throw in the perjury charges.

Throw in the info relating to 1/6 that may be not in possession of the DOJ or 1/6 Committee.

Yeah, Jones is in a world of hurt, and I am so here for it.

Grind Jones and his entire grift into dust… and then pound that dust into nothingness. Salt the earth? No. End every trace of him. Oh, I know there’ll be others to fill the void, as they always do, but let’s put this one guy out of our collective misery.

Jones’ may want to hold appeal to claim inadequate counsel, but the problem is that Jones refused to comply with discovery in the first place, and was obligated by the court to provide this information. That his lawyer screwed up doesn’t change that except perhaps to open him up to criminal prosecution for perjury (which would have occurred had discovery been done in the proper course of events and Jones still lied about the phone contents - because that’s what he does and who he is).

This case will be an example for what not to do as a lawyer.

This case will also be an example of what not to do with a client.

It would have been far better to keep Jones off the stand; by taking the stand, he opened the door to all of this. His lawyer knew or had reason to know this.

If true, that makes the revelation that the plaintiffs got the full stash of his phone texts the second worst thing to happen to him today.

I’m here for it…

Some people want to watch the world burn.

I’m just here to watch him burn. It couldn’t happen to a worse human being, whose fuckitude came to my awareness in the days after 9/11 when he began spewing troofer crap nonstop.

We’ve watched this monster get away with being what he is for so long that there’s a huge sense of relief at some accountability at last. They need to do Trump next.

Yeah, except in NYC, there aren’t that many cliffs with narrow tracks like that. (Manhattan, anyway: can’t speak for The Bronx)

I was on a bus on a narrow mountain road in Taiwan when another bus came the other direction. Fortunately, we were on the mountain side. I swear the other bus had its outside wheels inches over the side of a sheer drop.

Didn’t Jones say that he is bringing in hundreds of millions a year?

$2 million is a drop in the bucket since I doubt his operation is that expensive to run.

Another lie.

And I’d be curious if some of the information on the phone directly contradicts information in the bankruptcy papers he filed.
