“Authorities also believed the documents remaining at Mar-a-Lago had national security implications.”

My suspicion, that Trump was trying to sell access to classified Top Secret info for big bucks, is getting stronger.

Of course, sure - it’s likely we might never know exactly what docs Trump had down there at Mar-a-Lago, especially if it was material related to national security.

This guy apparently picked a fight with the inimitable @Popehat over the whole kerfuffle, and got quite thoroughly owned. As one usually does when one picks a fight with a former criminal lawyer.

I held TS/SCI clearances in my civilian job for decades. At every rebrief, we were appraised of the penalties for mishandling of classified material, which included removing the material from the areas approved for it to be handled. Although not specifically warned about selling the material on the open markets, posters were plastered all over the place, showing the faces, crimes, and jail terms of those who broke their oaths and handed classified material over to the baddies. If TFG took such material with him when we kicked his ass out, there could be some substantive repercussions. If he is found to have actually passed it to unauthorized recipients, he’s due for a long jail sentence.

John Solomon:

“…In the early years of Trump’s presidency, Solomon produced a series of columns for The Hill alleging dubious business dealing by Hunter Biden in Ukraine and corruption by his father, which were never proven.

The columns were widely cited in conservative media, with his background at mainstream outlets like The Associated Press apparently lending them credibility. Solomon was a frequent guest on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show.

They formed part of the web of conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated claims that led to Trump’s first impeachment in 2019, after he threatened to withhold military aid from Ukraine’s newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, unless Zelenskyy helped in the bid to smear the Bidens.”

Taking the documents was crime. Not giving them back was an ongoing crime.

Not only would Trump’s supporters keep supporting him after he shot someone on Fifth Avenue, they’d attack cops trying to keep him from shooting more people.

I’m just wondering how much the monthly electric bill is for a sump system for a Florida basement. That’s gotta be a LOT of water.

That seems more like an insane cry for arrest that leads to psychological help than an attack. A serious attacker would have opened up with the AR-15.
