I heard him on Ari Melber today. If Weisselberg lies in the Trump Org trial his 5 months at Rikers can turn into 5-15 years. Also, I love the fact that he’s going to be spending a good part of the fall and winter in Rikers. May the weather be brutal.

Feds are investigating Trump’s alibi to see if anyone besides Trump heard about it,” Rolling Stone reports.

“Two people familiar with the matter tell Rolling Stone that the FBI has begun asking former Trump administration officials whether they’ve heard of the so-called ‘standing order’ Trump claims to have given.”

Key takeaway: “It’s unclear why a sitting president, who as commander-in-chief was privy to any classified information, would need to declassify work brought to the White House private residence.”

A reminder to all: Trump was not under oath when he claimed that he had issued a standing order to declassify everything. So why should anyone take that assertion at face value?

A new NPR/Ipsos poll finds that more than half of Americans say there’s an “invasion” at the southern border.

“The poll also found that large numbers of Americans hold a variety of misconceptions about immigrants — greatly exaggerating their role in smuggling illegal drugs into the U.S., and how likely they are to use public benefits, for example — as false and misleading claims about immigration gain traction.”

NARRATOR: “When Donald Trump really endorses someone, he goes big. You’ve seen none of that for Lyin’ Matt Gaetz. What does Trump know? Is Gaetz the informant? Gaetz hired Jeffrey Epstein’s attorney. Another Epstein attorney approved the raid on Trump’s house. Remember, Gaetz pressured Trump to give him a pardon, but Trump said ‘no.’ Matt Gaetz puts himself first, ahead of Trump and ahead of you. Tim Ryan is probably the one Dem who could win in an Ohio Senate race in this cycle. Yes, it may mean electing another Manchin/Sinema - but we need strength in numbers when it counts. Toss in Fetterman, get rid of Johnson in Wisconsin - hold Nevada and Georgia - suddenly the makeup is much better. Even if the House flips - the ability to appoint judges would be completely unfettered.

May your vision come to pass. We must hold the Senate and getting a real majority would be a dream come true. All Biden appointees will then be confirmed (even those who insulted Manchin’s “little girl”). There will be no legislation passed if the Dems lose the House and the GOP may very well shut the government down. A concerning prospect.

Dancers at a Los Angeles strip club have filed to unionize with Actors’ Equity Association, a move that would make them the first group of strippers to join the national union that represents theater actors.

Performers at Star Garden in North Hollywood submitted a petition on Wednesday with the National Labor Relations Board seeking a union election. The initiative comes after months of staging protests outside the venue raising concerns about workplace safety and labor rights. Actors’ Equity - which represents Broadway actors, stage managers, Disney World performers and other regional theater actors - said it was supporting the effort and that if it is successful, the Star Garden workers would become the only strippers in the US currently represented by a union.

Review aggregate sites have struggled with “review bombing” campaigns for years, with these efforts typically focused on new video game releases. However, there have been times when movies and TV shows have been the victims of review bombing as well. And that’s exactly what appears to be happening to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV series on the Disney+ streaming service.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiered today, August 18, on Disney+, earning mostly positive reviews from critics. There have been some complaints about the show’s CGI and corny MCU-style humor, but Tatiana Maslany’s performance has been well-received. Regardless, various sites have been bombarded with overwhelmingly negative She-Hulk reviews, with some of the reviews posted before the show even premiered on Disney+.
