It’s funny, our local Hardee’s does a fantastic breakfast business. But after 10:30 am, the place might as well close up.

If there were justice in this world, Cannon would be disbarred. But there is no justice. The 2000 Bush v Gore ruling showed the corruption in the Supreme Court and it’s only gotten worse over the years.

I don’t care how respected Dearie is — the fact that the Trump team recommended him proves they know something about him that the DOJ doesn’t. I wouldn’t trust any ruling he makes.

Apparently the First Amendment fight is NOT about the billboards maybe violating campaign finance or election laws, but about advertising a procedure that is illegal (or mostly so) in those states. That will be interesting to see how it works out.

Per the article, the billboards are blunt and use the A (abortion) word. I’d be curious to see how many people might be encouraged to vote in local/state elections in these states because they learned that their states had shut down access to abortion.

I’m no fan of Tom Cruise, but in the context of “The Last Samurai,” he was not taking a Japanese role. He was supposed to be a pissed off white dude who had bad experiences in the military (maybe Civil War? it’s just that time period) and he ends up in Japan. I have not seen the movie because, well, Tom Cruise and Scientology*, but I think I might watch it now because it’s about the Satsuma Rebellion. It’s probably very Western (as in not told from an Asian point of view) oriented, so slanted in that respect.

Oh! and it stars Ken Watanabe, who is a great Japanese actor.

*seriously, I make a practice of not watching movies with Tom Cruise in it because he’s best buds with the Scientology leader, David Miscavige. Why Yes, I’m Weird.

The third act drags a bit. But the cast is amazing - even with the Kevin Spacey factor. Lemmon, Arkin, Harris, Pacino. Too bad the playwright, David Mamet, went over to the dark side. He really was on a roll in expressing the human condition - and all of its frailties.

A FB friend linked to this article:

businessinsider.com

A Russian soldier told his father in a phone call Ukrainian intelligence intercepted that his fellow troops have “nowhere to run” as Ukraine continues its fast-paced counteroffensive.

Ukraine’s intelligence service released on Monday what it said is a phone call between a Russian soldier in the northern Kharkiv region — where President Vladimir Putin’s forces have been routed in recent days — and his father.

“Everything’s bad, pop,” the soldier told his father when asked how things were going, according to a translation of the report by the Daily Beast. “We’re losing, definitely, on top of that.”

“I’m telling you, seriously, you know how many injured we have?” the soldier continued, according to the report. “We have nowhere to run. They just keep advancing, advancing, advancing.”

Does anyone know how credible Business Insider is as a source of information? Of course, it could be the Ukrainian government planting stories to help discourage Russian fighters.

Since it is almost a law of nature that everything an EvangeMAGAt says is projection, he could be onto something. Maybe he is telling us what would work with the MAGA-Christians themselves.
Set aside a large part of the arid west, someplace where superstition and Magatry already prevail. I suggest a large stretch of West Texas from Abiline to Amarillo, with gerrymandered corridors to like-mindless areas in other states. Surround it with barbed wire, minefields, genetically engineered wolves, killer attack robots, and moats with laser armed sharks. Give the residents some building materials, basic hand tools, a supply of simple but nourishing food, and ammunition (lots and lots of ammunition. Herd them in, monitor from orbit and let nature take its course.
