Law & Disorder: Ex-teacher pleads guilty to possession of child porn
A Jacksonville man previously charged with inappropriately touching young girls he was teaching pleaded guilty Monday on another child pornography charge.
Ripley F. Ridenour, 55, of the 800 block of South Halsema Road, was arrested in July for having at least 200 images and 11 videos of child pornography on his computer, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
A sentencing date has not been set, but Ridenour faces a minimum five years in prison and a maximum 20.
In 2001, Ridenour, then a teacher at Victory Christian Academy
, was convicted of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12.

When a parent contacted our teacher with a complaint, our teacher immediately sent out correspondence to all parents in the class to assure them that there were no bad intentions with this assignment and to clarify the guidelines.

I got diagnosed with a shoulder with limited motion in June.* PT has helped with it a great deal in terms of getting a larger range of motion and strength back in it.
* - First noticed last September and thought I’d pulled a muscle or something. On-and-off minor issues with it since then. Not interfering with day-to-day stuff unless I stretch it while holding more than a pound or two of weight.

We’ve had very heavy rainfall today. The ground is super saturated. About an hour ago there was a mud landslide downtown where a couple of trees tipped over and knocked two houses off their foundations. One was a six unit apartment building. Fortunately no one was hurt. About 8 people lost their housing. All over but for the cleanup.
Just like the super cyclone in the Pacific, hurricanes in the Canadian Provinces and in the Atlantic, Alaska is having unusual weather. The event we’re having is called the Pineapple Express where super moist water vapor is driven to Alaska. When it gets here the moisture runs into colder and the coastal mountains where it’s dumped as heavy rain.
