metafilter has been a favorite place to visit for quite a while. but lately the tone of comments posted there has been increasingly unpleasant, and it’s really spoiling the site for me. i just finished checking out this morning’s posts, and came away feeling depressed. i go to metafilter for fun, interesting, creative, and educational links, not for one-up-manship, backbiting, and juvenile online arguments.
