Call Me Nostradamus
I’m getting so good at predicting the Arab world’s craziness that I’m starting to scare myself. Yesterday I wrote:
Oh, the seething. Oh, the whining. It’s another Naqba.
Today the Palestinian Arabs are following my script to the letter: Palestinians say they will step up attacks after Saddam’s ‘nakba’. (Hat tip: Geoffrey B.)
Al-Quds, the largest Palestinian daily, described the collapse of Baghdad as a nakba (catastrophe). “This is not going to be the last nakba,” it said in an editorial. “The Anglo-American victory will open the colonialists’ appetite to devour more Arab capitals. This nakba is added to a series of disasters that have plagued the Arabs and Muslims over the past century. Perhaps this latest disaster will bring about a genuine awakening of the Arabs and Muslims.”
By “genuine awakening,” they mean “rise up and kill, kill, kill the colonialist infidels!”
Not “take responsibility for our own actions and build a better life for our children.”
