Al Qaeda Operatives Pardoned by Morocco

LGF reader Z. Z. Zoot (I think it’s a pseudonym) points out a very interesting detail at the end of CNN’s latest story on the Casablanca bombings:
A few days ago, three suspected al Qaeda operatives — all Saudis — were granted amnesty by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI after having been sentenced to 10 years in prison for allegedly planning to bomb U.S. and British warships in the Strait of Gibraltar.
What the hell?
By the way, today CNN seems to have stopped insisting that Belgium was an ally of the US and Britain in the Iraq War.
UPDATE: The mention of the three released Al Qaeda members has been removed from this CNN page.
