Hurl a Rock for Peace

In Australia, here’s a web site called “Virtual Palestine” where you can write a message of hate on a rock, and then virtually “throw” it—just like a Palestinian. Of course, in this glamorous Flash version of an inherently violent act, the rock vanishes into the sunset and lovely stars appear—unlike the reality, where if that rock connected with its intended target, an Israeli would be rushed to the hospital: VirtualPalestine.
Oh, but don’t get them wrong; they’re not trying to glorify violence. A disclaimer on the page reads:
The “Stonethrower” animation is an attempt to redefine what has become a negative media image of Palestinians into a positive icon. No offence is intended.
See? Just some nice clean Islamic fun.
