CAIR Head Seethes, Whines, Sues
The head of the Southern California office of radical Islamic front group CAIR is suing National Review magazine for “defaming” him in this article by Shawn Steel about a CAIR harassment campaign. (Hat tip: Michael S.)
SANTA ANA, Calif. - A Southern California Muslim activist sued National Review magazine for allegedly defaming him in an article published on its Web site.
Hussam Ayloush, who heads the Southern California office of the Council for American-Islamic Relations, claims the magazine falsely suggested he supported anti-Semitic views.
The suit stems from a commentary article by Shawn Steel which states that Ayloush co-hosted an event at which an Egyptian Muslim leader called Jewish people “descendants of the apes.”
If Shawn Steel’s statement is true (and we all know it probably is—Muslim leaders, after all, do regularly say such things) where is the “defamation?”
I hope they do follow through with this lawsuit; it’s going to backfire on CAIR, because all sorts of ugly truths about their agenda will come out in court.
UPDATE: A reader requests I point out that the lawsuit is not being brought by CAIR, but by Hussam Ayloush personally; CAIR wants no part of this, because they do not want to face discovery.
