Holy crap! Arafat claimed to be a nephew of Haj Amin's!

8 evariste, skulking back in  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 2:27:27pm

I don't know why I said, "Holy crap". It's not like Arafish is known for his honesty and forthrightness.

9 evariste, skulking back in  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 2:29:17pm

Ooh, my Zaide's gone missing too? Have you emailed him zulubaby?

Of course, the mainstream press will never have anything like this. After all, only racists would criticize a peaceful religion like Islam is such manner!

/sarcasm off

(really should have to)

The only way this'll show up in the mainstream media is as the subject of CAIR's lastest whine session about how the West is wrongly labeling Islam.

Happy Halloween to you also! I emailed him, hopefully he's doing good.

20 scaramouche  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 3:18:18pm

Notwithstanding all his ROP-speak, you would think Bush would chafe at the Muslim belief that a Jew or Christian is a lesser human being. Or maybe he doesn't care what they think about him in this life because, as Muslims, they're all going to hell anyway. (As am I, for that matter.)

Still, I wish someone would send this symposium to the Pres--Perle? Wolfie? someone? I think he would find it very disturbing that, not only does the Koran have no respect for Judaism or Christianity as prior religions, but it has also appropriated Abraham and Jesus and turned them into Muslims. As an ardent Christian, wouldn't he be appalled?

21 Yossarian  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 3:22:59pm

Hey evariste! Did you have a good week? We missed you!

Bush and Muslims
By Diana West

"..So,thepresident hosted his Ramadan dinner. Believing (and having written) that this man is all that separates us from the abyss, I'm pulling for Mr. Bush to succeed. At the same time, I'm also hoping he choked a little on his official remarks, at least on the part where he called on people of all faiths to reflect on "the values we hold common — love of family, gratitude to God, and" — insert Heimlich Maneuver here — "a commitment to religious freedom."
Islam may have a lot of things — love of family and gratitude to God, as the president said, along with jihad (holy war), dhimmitude (inferior status of non-Muslims) and a corner on the suicide bombing market — but it does not have "a commitment to religious freedom." And, that goes even after excluding al Qaeda, the Taliban and the entire royal family of Saudi Arabia. Take Egypt. According to a report I first saw posted at [Link: www.robertspencer.org,...] a new Web site devoted to both jihad and dhimmitude, a slew of Christian converts from Islam have been arrested since Oct. 21 in Egypt — our modern (moderate?) friend and recipient of billions in U.S. aid — in a crackdown on "apostates."

I am sure that he is aware of that. He is an evangelical, no less, so I am sure that he fully understands what Islam is about. From what I know of the man, he doesn't seem the type to miss something that glaring. So I think that he mostly is just doing his best to avoid giving ammo to his enemies. That is what this ROP stuff is about. Sure there are plenty of muslims angry across the world, and plenty in America. But he majority are, at the moment, only going to vote against them. He doesn't want to do anything that would encourage them to side with OBL and crew. Foolish? Perhaps. But he is the type of man who feels he has a moral obligation to try anyway. Right now, he has only 3 things he was to worry about: nuclear proliferation, making Iraq better, and keeping the economy up. The last two will determine if he gets re-elected or not, so expect him to take any action he feels will help out in that regard. As for the first, well, I suspect that much of that is beyond our pervue.

27 evariste, acting like he was here the whole time  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 3:38:50pm

actually I will now to bed; my head aches. Good night youse.

Muhammad's hallucinations: His greatest hits on K-K-Koran records --->

Bat Ye'or: According to the Qur'an, Ibrahim (Abraham), the biblical figures, the prophet and Jesus were all Muslims prophets who preached Muhammad message, Islam (i.e. "submission to Allah"). They were not Jews and they are respected as Muslims, not as Jews. Here is the source of conflict. Muslims do not accept the Judeo-Christian interpretation of history. They do not see their religion as the third, but as the first, the religion of Adam and Eve. This is why they do not recognise the historical legitimacy of Israel today. Israel has no roots in the Holy Land because its biblical history is considered to be a Muslim history. David and Salomon were Muslim kings, and the Israelite prophets Muslims, as well as Jesus. It follows that Jews and Christians have no history and their beliefs are wrong. The only true version of biblical events is the qur'anic one - which is very different from the Bible - because the Qur'an is declared to be verbatim the word of Allah. This is the interpretation of Islamists, but not all Muslims share this view.

36 evariste, acting like he was here the whole time  Fri, Oct 31, 2003 4:34:58pm

quark2, yup. OK, this is my last post. I really am going to bed, people!!! Stop keeping me up!!! ;-)

The trouble with the Muslim interpretation is that it is contradictory. Mohammed was supposed to be the first Muslim, yet they manage to backdate the whole Old Testament to rip off the Jews. Same with Muslim historians, they totally ignore any pre-Islamic events, cause non Muslims don't matter to these narcissistic peons.

Shared Values? Love of Family? WOLF Packs love their families...Elephants, Dolphins, Dogs, ALL LOVE THEIR FAMILIES. Is that it? Is that VALUE the biggie Christians and Jews share with Islam? I swear...

scaramouche (#29), that's fucking hilarious. Looks like CNN is competing with the Onion.

Mr Zappa, I am astounded at the courtesy and soft voiced nature of the comments of my friend, the Senator from Tennessee. I can only say that I find your statement to be boorish, incredibly and insensitively insulting to the people who were here previously, that you could manage to give the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States a bad name, if I felt you had the slightest understanding of it, which I do not. -- - Senator Slade Gorton
