Remembering Pearl Harbor
Sixty-two years ago today Japan attacked the Pacific fleet in Pearl Harbor, hoping to strike a decisive blow that would cripple American strength in the region.
But despite the terrible losses of that day, Imperial Japan succeeded only in awakening a sleeping giant and filling it with a terrible resolve—a resolve that, four years later, would crush the hegemonic ambitions of Japan for all time.
National Geographic has gone off the rails lately, especially in their coverage of the Middle East, but their presentation Remembering Pearl Harbor is very well done.
