In his weblog entry about his lecture at UC Berkeley, Daniel Pipes mentions that the Berkeley Muslim Student Association is holding a conference this weekend titled Liberation Through Islam—and one of the featured speakers, live from his prison cell, is convicted cop killer Imam Jamil Al-Amin (aka H. Rap Brown). Daniel Pipes also mentions a session titled “Preparing to Die,” but it doesn’t appear on the schedule; possibly a last-minute change to avoid negative publicity. (Update: the session “Preparing to Die” appears in an email from the MSA about the event.)
UPDATE: We’ve written about the furtive teenage jihadis at soundvision.com several times before, most recently last August when a series of maniacal messages were posted rejoicing over the mass murder of schoolchildren by Arabs on a bus in Jerusalem. This site operates in Illinois and is a tax-exempt “religious” organization.
Here’s their mission statement:
Sound Vision would like to see our children achieve their full potential as dynamic and creative individuals who are comfortable with themselves and their environment. By absorbing the noble virtues of Islam in their formative years, our children will, Insha Allah, not only be better Muslims and better citizens, they would also strive to achieve the best of this world and the best of the world to come.
Apparently, being a convicted murderer doesn’t preclude being able to impart the “noble virtues of Islam,” because one of the items for sale to Muslim children in SoundVision’s shopping area is a videotape of The Words of Imam Jamil Al-Amin.
