Regardless of Obama’s chattiness or lack thereof, it’s just nuts to conclude that he is responsible for oil prices.

The Right cannot have it both ways. On the one hand they’re digging in to protect established and profitable industries like oil and want more freedom from government regulations (and protections! including our national war machine as well as price supports) yet on the other they blame the government it things go wrong (or right, depending); it doesn’t make any sense.

The fact is oil prices have always been affected by a variety of factors including price fixing by the OPEC cartel, ditto within the the major oil companies, wars, environmental factors and local politics within oil producing states and of course, the basic laws of supply and demand.

Industrialists understand this and so do stock market professionals; yet in a pinch they’ll turn around and blame The Job Killing EPA, Democratic presidents (especially Obama) and so forth. It’s basically propaganda.
