I’d venture a guess that US (and many other militarys of note) service personnel would go to tremendous lengths to not shoot civilians, let alone women and children….oh, wait! we’ve been doing that for years now…and the US hasn’t declared war on it’s civilian population in all our history. Now, having a pseudo nation, complete with military forces suddenly appear below the Mason-Dixon line counts as a war…between military forces.

In Assad’s case, they just use military force to cut them down in the streets…
