The modern Republican party has very little connection to the historic GOP. This is not Eisenhower’s party any longer.

All the more reason why the conclusion that Republicans have some special affinity for starting wars seems shaky. We simply don’t have enough data.

One point, George W. Bush, does not a trend make. Fair enough to say that Whitefield thinks Romney will emulate him, although frankly, the Republicans are working hard to make Bush go down the memory hole.
