This is exactly the line Republicans always use against Vets (they are not heroes and or they only joined for the resume or that they should not talk about their service) if they happen to be Democrats. But if the vet happens to be a Republican they run on that full bore. The GOP knows that a Democrat vet takes away the GOP’s meme of “GOP is pro military and the Dems are all Hanoi Jane traitors”.
