Occasionally, a reputable scientist here or there in some unrelated field makes a show of being irritated by the claim that AGW science is settled, because science is never settled, especially complex systems science, and from a scientific standpoint such a claim is stifling and foolhardy. That’s all very well and good, but the problem at hand is not one of science, it’s one of policy. For the benefit of the ignoramuses in charge of policy, we round our probabilities to the nearest integer.
