Oddly, there are some real bargains to be had just now on traditional manual action guns (the kind I like). My local gun shop has a Ruger No. 1 rifle on sale for $699.00 (MSRP about $1200.00). There are similar deals on lever action deer rifles, historical replicas, and low cost single shot weapons.

The reason for this is lack of demand for anything that isn’t on the putative ban list, coupled with the dealers’ desire to clear space for SBGs (Scary Black Guns) that are selling as fast as they can be brought in the door.

This is all a very interesting, not to mention alarming, sociological and political phenomenon, since literally billions of dollars in potentially dangerous goods are changing hands on little more basis than a conspiracy theory.
