US synagogue welcomes Muslims seeking a place to pray

Great story, thanks for posting it. ;)

re: #6 Learned Mother of Zion

Shabbat service is Friday night, Muslim Friday prayers would be earlier in the day.

Yep, the Friday prayer is always around midday. The prayer time begins just after high (solar) noon, but on Fridays the big congregational prayer is preceded by a sermon which is usually fairly short (i.e. about 20-30 minutes, nothing like the seemingly interminable Sunday masses of my childhood, heh).

re: #7 Learned Mother of Zion

BTW CuriousLurker if you are out there, Eid Mubarak! Ramadan is over tonight.

Thanks! ;) I just found out we have one more day, so Eid isn’t until Sunday. There was some explanation about the astronomical new moon, moonset, sunset…it pretty much made my eyes glaze over.
