I totally agree.

When I converted to Islam my Sheik warned me, in no uncertain terms, of Salafists. He called them, “Agents of the Devil” and had minimal patience with them.

He was a Sufi, and I’m sure that had a good deal to do with his negative feelings toward Salafists, seeing as Sufis are often on the receiving end of Salafist bullets, RPG’s, bombs, etc.

But his warning against extremism, in any form, religious or political, certainly stuck with me.
