So, nat’ralists observe, a flea
Hath smaller fleas that on him prey,
And these have smaller still to bite ’em
And so proceed ad infinitum.

Prayers for Dean Barnett

Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 6:25:41 pm PDT

Dean Barnett is in trouble tonight, and he could use a few prayers (even from you godless atheists).

My friend Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson tells me that Dean has had to be admitted to the hospital and is currently in the ICU with a terrible attack of his cystic fibrosis, and that the prognosis doesn’t look good. I’d like to ask Hot Air readers for their prayers for my friend and his family. I know they will appreciate the support.

The Obama Campaign's Veterans' Scorecard

Politics | Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 2:30:00 pm PDT

The Obama campaign is releasing a “scorecard” on the candidates, from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), as proof that veterans should be supporting Obama.

John Lilyea has discovered some interesting things about IAVA—including the fact that a founding member is now the Barack Obama campaign’s Veterans Director: Well! Color me shocked! (is the sarcasm filter on?)

Script Kiddies in Trouble

Politics | Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 10:21:06 am PDT

Note to script kiddies: it’s probably not a good idea to break into a vice presidential candidate’s email account. Lawmaker’s son indicted in Palin e-mail hacking.

WASHINGTON – A federal grand jury has indicted the son of a Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker in connection with the hacking of the e-mail account of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

David Kernell, 20, of Knoxville, Tenn., the son of state Rep. Mike Kernell, was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Clifford Shirley, according to a statement from the Justice Department.

There wasn’t any “hacking” involved in this case, though. He allegedly just guessed at the Yahoo security questions and succeeded in changing the account password.
