Saturday Night Music: Tiny Tim, ‘The Ice Caps’
Tiny Tim at the peak of his talents. One of the strangest performances you’ll ever see.
Via Boing Boing, where they inform us that this extremely weird song is referenced by Thomas Pynchon in his new book, Inherent Vice.
Glenn Beck Poised to Implement 100-Year Plan
It’s going to take him 100 years to get it all done, but Glenn Beck has a master plan. And to find out what it is, all you have to do is buy his new book.
I have begun meeting with some of the best minds in the country that believe in limited government, maximum freedom and the values of our Founders. I am developing a 100 year plan. I know that the bipartisan corruption in Washington that has brought us to this brink [sic] and it will not be defeated easily. It will require unconventional thinking and a radical plan to restore our nation to the maximum freedoms we were supposed to have been protecting, using only the battlefield of ideas.
- All of the above will culminate in The Plan, a book that will provide specific policies, principles and, most importantly, action steps that each of us can take to play a role in this Refounding.
Tech Note: ‘Return After Posting Reply’
We have a new feature in our commenting system, requested by several people. If you click the ‘Reply’ or ‘Quote’ buttons on the top line of a comment to post a reply to someone’s comment, you’ll see a new checkbox appear at the top left of the comment posting box, labeled “Return after posting reply.” It looks like this:
If this box is checked when you post your reply, your browser window will be automatically placed back at the top of the comment to which you were replying, letting you easily continue reading the thread from that point on without having to scroll back up and hunt for it.
If the box isn’t checked when you post the comment, it behaves the way it always has.
If you change your mind after clicking ‘Reply’ or ‘Quote,’ and clear the entire comment posting box, the ‘Return after posting reply’ button will also disappear.
The status of the checkbox is saved in a cookie in your browser, so if, as a rule, you prefer not to return to the originating comment after posting a reply, just uncheck it once and it will be unchecked the next time you reply to a comment.
Update: Palin Apologizes for Leaving Books Unsigned
At her Facebook page, Sarah Palin apologizes for leaving hundreds of people with unsigned books after they waited in the rain for 6 hours: Not Enough Hours in the Day.
I’ve been told that yesterday there were supporters in Noblesville who stood in long lines for hours in the cold and rain, and the book signing event ended without a chance to say hello to everyone who showed up. I am so sorry. We are working on a solution for those who were left behind.
I apologize.
- Sarah Palin
