Mitt Romney just gave his concession speech. It’s over. All the lying, all the race-baiting, all the obscene amounts of money … all over.

And Barack Obama wins a second term.

I know, I already posted that … but I just like saying it.

President Obama has won the state of Ohio, and that gives him the electoral votes he needs.

It’s over, folks. President Obama has won a second term!

Things are still changing fast, but Barack Obama is beginning to take a clear lead, especially in Ohio where, with 30% of the vote counted, it’s Obama 51.9%, Romney 46.6%.

Still way too early to make any realistic predictions, but Ohio is looking really good for Obama right now. Only 2% of the vote reported, but Obama is leading by 57.3% to Romney’s 41.5%.

Florida is much closer, but with 39% of the vote reported, Obama has the edge with 50.6% to Romney’s 48.6%.

A second thread for election night discussion. It’s still early, but the trends should start to emerge soon…

It won’t be long before exit poll results start trickling out of the media, so here’s a first open thread of the evening to watch as America decides.
