Ted Nugent at Gun Show: “I’ve Got Some Buddies” Ready to Start a Revolution

“We need to fix this as soon as possible”
Wingnuts • Views: 24,159

Speaking at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT) in Las Vegas (a major gun industry trade show), Ted Nugent launched into another vitriolic tirade against President Obama, calling him “an evil, dangerous man who hates America,” and coming very close to outright advocation of assassination and revolution. It seems like Ted won’t be happy until he provokes some gun-crazed paranoid wingnut into violence.

National Rifle Association board member and Washington Times columnist Ted Nugent alluded to the start of the American Revolution in an interview with Guns.com during the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show, claiming that the Obama administration “is attempting to re-implement the tyranny of King George” and that “if you want another Concord Bridge, I got some buddies.”

NUGENT: I’m part of a very great experiment in self-government where we the people determine our own pursuit of happiness and our own individual freedom and liberty not to be confused with the Barack Obama gang who believes in we the sheeple and actually is attempting to re-implement the tyranny of King George that we escaped from in 1776. And if you want another Concord Bridge, I got some buddies.

Nugent’s mention of “Concord Bridge” is presumably a reference to the Battle of Concord, which was fought on the North Bridge. The battle, one of the early encounters of the Revolutionary War, forced the British to retreat.

Throughout his comments, Nugent directed vitriol towards President Obama, claiming that he is “an evil dangerous man who hates America and hates freedom” who “hangs out with” communists.

Not many details yet, but there’s another mass shooting incident in Texas: Multiple People Shot on College Campus in Texas.

HOUSTON - Multiple people have been shot at a Harris County college, Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said.

Investigators said the shooting happened at Lone Star College’s North Harris campus, 2700 West W. W. Thorne Drive near Aldine Westfield shortly after noon.

Officials have not said exactly how many people have been shot or the extent of their injuries. Memorial Hermann Hospital said Life Flight was being sent to the college to pick up at least one patient.

Deputy constables said they have at least one person detained, but have not said if that person is a suspected shooter.

NBC/WSJ Poll: For the First Time, a Majority Want Legal Abortion

Republican craziness backfires
US News • Views: 19,272

The new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll on abortion shows that for the first time, a majority of Americans want abortion to be legal in all (or most) cases.

And one reason for the opinion swing: the Republican Party’s deranged obsession with controlling women’s reproductive rights, and the very revealing statements by people like Todd Akin and other highly placed right wing cavemen.

What’s more, seven in 10 respondents oppose Roe v. Wade being overturned, which is the highest percentage on this question since 1989.

“These are profound changes,” says Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted this survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart and his colleagues.

McInturff adds that the abortion-related events and rhetoric over the past year - which included controversial remarks on abortion and rape by two Republican Senate candidates, as well as a highly charged debate over contraception - helped shaped these changing poll numbers.

“The dialogue we have had in the last year has contributed … to inform and shift attitudes.”

An Interplanetary GPS Using Pulsar Signals
Spacecraft could determine their position anywhere in the solar system to within five kilometres using signals from x-ray pulsars, say astronomers. Navigating in space is a tricky business. The usual method relies on Earth-based tracking stations to work out a spacecraft's distance using radio waves, a process that is accurate to within a metre or so. That's fine for the radial distance, but ...

4 Reasons ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Is Secretly About Drugs
Nice, right? Anyway, here's my thesis: Raiders of the Lost Ark is not an action-adventure movie about an archaeologist who plays by his own rules and saves the day. Instead, the film is an exploration of Marion Ravenwood's crippling drug addiction. An addiction that was born from her unhealthy relationship and continued association with Indiana Jones. Is it true? Who cares. Can I prove ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...
