massacre ... this is not a massacre, this is a war, how dare you call
what Israel is doing a massacre...

go Israel!

current death toll: 375 Palestinians and 2 Israelis

And it is the Hamas leadership that instigated this carnage. I genuinely believe that Hamas wants thousands of Palestinians dead.

Perhaps "massacre" was the wrong word. "Hamas planned suicide" might have been a better choice.

I take issue with your first paragraph.

'Massacre' is not just a wrong expression, it is so hyperbolic that it loses any connection to the reality. It implies that the dead are totally innocent and have been killed by some mindless, bloodthirsty monster, without any reason.

I am sure you agree that Israel is not this implied monster, nor that the dead are some unfortunate victims!

Further, I loathe the expression 'humanitarian crisis'. It is used by all and any bien pensant, without thinking. If there are no medicines etc - lets ask why that is, especially as israel has let through a convoy with just such supplies.
Might it be that, in good dictatorial/terrorist fashion, said supplies are used exclusively for those brave fighters who hide behind women and children, but who cling to their own lives and don't mind seeing women and children die, for their own propaganda purposes.
Why, do you think, are we swamped with photos of children - but not with those of the brave Hamas fighters, especially since its they themselves who, according to the UN, have suffered more deaths than the civilian population?

Sorry, it needs to be done. If the Palestinians wanted peace and to avoid this, they would not have elected a terrorist faction to run the government. If they wanted peace, they would not allow their government to fire missiles at a peaceful nation. If they wanted peace, they would not throw rocks, bottles and other garbage at soldiers trying to keep the peace. Soldiers who never fire first. Ever hear you reap what you sow? how long is Israel supposed to let this continue, like no other nation would be expected to, simply because it is Israel and their Jewish citizenry. The accepted bigotry against Israel and Jews has always puzzled and maddened me. The same folks who will take a dispute to the Supreme Court so as to force a politically correct concept at people, lest anyone be offended ever, for any reason, ,are frequently the same ones who have no problem calling Jews murderers for defending themselves from decades, centuries and, millennia from unprovoked attacks, simply because they are Jews. I hope Israel pounds Gaza to dust. Israel should never again stand by and quietly accept others threatening to and carrying out the threats to annihilate them. They have endured that long enough.

Just who broke the Peace. Two years of having rockets furled at her from Gaza is enough!

re: #2 The Wizard, fkap

Have you been drinking the Kool-aid too.
Are you there in Israel? Are you there in Gaza?
It's easy to comment and downding Israel, when you
sit on the sidelines munching popcorn and haven't a clue what is actually occurring there.
I have family here. Peace had been offered and it was REJECTED by Gaza and Hamas by the continuing of lobbing rockets into Israel.
Stop proponing and pandering to this media bias.
Talk to the people who are there.
