2. Once they arrived, BHO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent” danger

3. The first time the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction

Sorry, I'll wait for a non-nameless source at the very least. When the hostage jumped for the first time, the pirates started firing their weapons. By any definition that puts the hostage's life in imminent danger and would certainly had given the snipers, had things been set up properly and conditions right, to react.

I may be unpopular for this response, but I'll give Obama the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I agree, I'm going to put zero faith in a report that some unnamed guy posted on a Baylor sports fan web site, in which he says that talked to certain unnamed SEALs, and they said some stuff about what really happened with the pirates.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering why the Navy didn't attack the pirates the first time that Captain Phillips jumped off of the boat. It could certainly be that Obama gave them some screwed up rules of engagement prevented them from protecting the Captain. But it's also very possible that Obama's orders were the right ones, and that it simply wasn't safe or feasible to take out all of the pirates at that time without risking harm to Captain Phillips swimming in the water.

As I've said before, I don't think this story has much to do with Obama. If he actively prevented the Navy from doing its job (and there's still no credible reason to believe that), then his leadership in this case was horribly incompetent. Otherwise, he has basically nothing to do with this story, and for him to take or even accept any credit for the outcome is silly.

I'm still up in the air about this.

(On one hand, the source is a bit iffy, ...
...On the other side: When Capt Phillips tried to escape and jumped in the water and the Pirate shot at him to stop him from escaping (forcing him to swim back). Why weren't there Sharp Shooters ready to take out that pirate then?)
