To expand on my claim that the sensible two-pronged campaign by the Netherlands government was discontinued (by the early '90s) entirely because of gay political BS, I will give an example (in fact, the primary example in this case) of such BS:

"Asking gay men to totally abstain from anal sex isn't REALISTIC."

To which I respond: "Asking ALL gay/bi men to give up anal sex is certainly unrealistic, but it's entirely realistic to believe that some guys in the "MSM demographic." would give up anal sex (and thus hardly need to worry about HIV at all) if only gay male culture would stop telling them and telling them and telling them that if you're a man who likes sex with men but don't enjoy takin' it up the wazoo, it's because you haven't given it a fair try. (Kinda like how Communism is unenjoyable because it's never truly been given a chance.)

Or if you're "ethnic" in any way, or an immigrant, white gay men will suggest that maybe you have cultural hang-ups about anal intrusion. (Hint: Disliking the sensation of a penis-sized object moving in and out of your rectum with speed and force isn't an "acculturated aversion" -- really! On the contrary, it's one of those hard-wired biological things that takes massive re-programming and determined practice to overcome.)

Or gay men of all colors will prove themselves hypocrites by suggesting that if a dude likes sucking cock, but feels no need to go through the considerable trouble of learning how to take one up the butt without constantly yelping in pain, it must be because he's just a bit self-loathing and suffers from "internalized homophobia." (Hint: A homo or bi man's aversion to anal sex can only be a symptom of "self-loathing homophobia" to the extent that anal sex is an intrinsic and central part of male homo/bi-sexuality. And we all know how the vast majority of gay-identified men love to scream and cry should any straight conservative make the mistake of suggesting that the what-what-in-the-butt thing is INCREDIBLY CENTRAL to gay male culture as it exists in America and other Western countries today.

Thus, expecting that SOME gay/bi men would choose to abstain from buttseckx if an anal-discouraging message were accompanied (and this is really important) by tacit permission to keep on enjoying fellatio and mutual masturbation with other men, isn't a bit "unrealistic."

And of course, for men who really and truly love anal sex, there's always the condom option.

On my own blog, I've already gotten one response from a gay whiner who pointed out that "many str8 people have anal sex too!!"

To which I say: Um, I'm not sure that many "str8" people actually have anal sex, although I'm quite aware that many hetero guys try to talk their wives or girlfriends into being good sports about it. My advice to women is: if your man is nagging you to let him butt-fuck you, insist that he give you a chance to pound his poop-chute with a strap-on similar in size to his dick. Turnabout is fair play and all.

I'm saying, however, that under no circumstances should it be mistaken for a "vanilla" sex act. It's simply a rather kinky thing to do, and thus is better done sparingly and with due caution (if at all). And the gay AIDS epidemic happened in large part because beginning in the late '60s and exploding massively in the '70s, gay men began expending truly massive amounts of effort talking each other into the notion that anal sex is "vanilla." (How do I know this? Because unlike a lot of fags, I've always been willing to give men 20 or 30 or 40 years older than myself the time of day. And these men have told me that back before Stonewall, there was a time in the gay American subculture when men with an enthusiasm for kinky butt sex were described with the mildly scornful term "brownie queens." Really!)

(Of course, the promiscuity and bathhouse culture didn't help, but promiscuous fellatio simply doesn't spread HIV efficiently enough to have caused the epidemic levels of AIDS among gay men by itself -- so the re-framing of anal sex from "kinky" to "vanilla" was a crucial pre-condition for the AIDS epidemic.)

i am by no means gay. however i am a doctor and will tell u something: unprotected vaginal sex can also be quite dangerous. cancer, hiv, deadly syphilis and gonorrhea, uncureable warts and herpes, kidney infections, swollen painful testicles... the list goes on and on. if u are serious about prohibiting anal sex why stop there? make vaginal sex illegal too (unless it's for reproductive purposes of course)
