The fight is on and it’s ugly. We set off on a raid at 0345 Sunday morning.
Nearly all missions that I am doing here with the British are conducted on foot, and the enemy tries to blow us up and shoot us.
Sometimes they have been very successful, but the enemy has been taking more casualties.
During today’s mission, two Afghan soldiers were killed. (They actually were on a separate mission and we only heard the explosions and the firefight.) This will be a long, hard fight.
