MSDF officer guilty of leaking Aegis data

YOKOHAMA—The district court here Tuesday found a Maritime Self-Defense Force officer, who gave information about the Aegis destroyer to a fellow MSDF member, guilty of leaking military secrets.
Sumitaka Matsuuchi, 35, became the first person convicted of violating a 1954 law covering highly confidential defense information.
He was handed a 30-month sentence, suspended for four years.
