Just out of curiosity, is there a problem with posting a thread from your own blog and labeling it under the category of blogosphere? I hadn’t believed there was? I knew there was an unwritten rule about “pimping” your blog within the thread comments, but I thought it was legit in the spinoffs? ;-)>

It just gets ridiculous wading through dozens of them in the morning. It seems unseemly to just pimp LGF for blog traffic without seriously contributing.

Ahh Okay. I do seem to remember there being nigh on 80 or so a day or so ago. I’m still kind of feeling my way around with this blogging thingee. ;-)>

Ah… Cool! I never would’ve thought to click on the football. Thanks for the tip. I’m glad I’m running a decent ratio, although I haven’t commented much at all recently. As a victim of the Obama War on Prosperity, I’m working overnights, so I just post blog items when I get home. I’m usually only awake while there is an open thread so I figure I’ll bring something to the equation beyond my own worthless two cents.

And that rambling incoherent thought must mean it’s time for me to hit the sack. Thanks again for the knowledge!

Here’s me, I try to run a 10 to 20 to 1 ratio, meaning 10 to 20 newslinks per time I pimp my blog. This is unlike other bloggers, but then I’m not that hungry for traffic - my blog’s my daybook, not a commercial venture. In their defense, if you are a pro blogger or full time blogger it takes more work than folks realize, and hanging out here and commenting literally kills posts on your blog.

I hate blog pimpers. Actually, what I hate the most is when people stick a news item into the blog with a teaser so that you just up their clicks instead of letting people get right to the story.

My gripe is to karma hogs. You know who you are, always going the extra mile to get a +, but rarely returning the favor.Reminds me of some customers on ebay. You give superb service, leave them positive feedback, and they never reciprocate.

Then I left commenting after Reaganite, Rayra, Sarah D, evariste and a few others, started bitching about everything AND anything. In fact, if Charles still has the logs that far back, I blasted Reaganite for being such a prick.

I do not know why, Charles decided to purge those folks. At one point evariste was listed as a kinda’ maybe assistant to Charles.

Yep, the kind of people who are always there in the first ten comments of every new thread with a comment or joke that they know will please the crowd, but who seem to have very little karma of their own to give out.

Maybe Charles could update the viewable stats on karma given as well as recieved by each LGF-er, so we can all see who those hogs are? Just a suggestion.
