More than that, it’s a symptom of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Deep down they know they’re not as good as they say - and that they must sabotage others to prevail over them.
As someone who has tried hundreds of times to have meaningful discussions with leftists, I must say that this tactic of setting up absurd straw-men is de rigeur for the left.
Take that away and they apparently have nothing else to say.
Having a meaningful political conversation with a leftist is like packing sand in a rathole. It’s futile. If I could count the number of times I’ve been told that I must get my marching orders from Rush Limbaugh because I’m conservative, I’d be a wealthy man. Leftists are so shallow it’s pathetic.
