Manchester United crowned Premier League Champions
An entertaining but goalless draw with Arsenal gave Sir Alex Ferguson the point he needed to notch up his 11th English Premier League trophy with Manchester United and the club’s 18th, equalling Liverpool’s all-time record. Following the game questions were raised concerning Carlos Tevez’s future at the club, with fans lobbying the manager loudly for a new contract and the much substituted player appearing to wave goodbye. Ferguson spoke of surpassing Liverpool’s record next year. Today’s result allows Fergie to rest players against Hull next week, the last domestic game of the season, before heading to Rome to take on Barcelona in the final of the Champions League.
