Fortune Names Israel Corp. One of World's Largest Companies

Fortune magazine’s listing of the world’s 500 largest companies, the Fortune Global 500, has listed Israel Corporation as the 466th biggest corporation in the world in its 2009 ranking.
Companies were measured by revenues in 2008.
The only Israeli company to make the list, Ofer Holdings Group subsidiary Israel Corporation, is Israel’s largest holdings company, focusing in fertilizers and specialty chemicals, oil, gas, petroleum, shipping and transportation. The company had a $19.8 billion revenue last year, with a net profit of $320 million.
Fortune also ranked Israel Corp. as the world’s tenth fastest growing company in 2008, with 81.5% growth compared with 2007.
