This little bit from the National Geographic Society about loosing the poles.
Title says it all. Only some two minutes long.

This is Alarmism, not science.
NO this is the truth and the truth is alarming.
You need to get real with it.

Ludwig,
Science doesn’t need dramatic music, CGI graphics and sensationalism, if you’d care to actually listen to the piece you posted you will hear the announcer slip in the qualification “might” followed by “worst case scenario.” The “truth” as you so strongly assert, assumes a certainty that the announcers own statements contradict. This is alarmism and should be posted under the category Entertainment, Humor or Opinion, not Science.

Question.
They say in the video that if the permafrost melts then Vegitation that has been locked in the permafrost will decompose and release it's carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. If it's permafrost why is their plant life contained in it? The question is, when was this plant life alive? How long has this permafrost been there and what caused it to melt the last time?
