Next year on re-supply missions to the International Space Station, the Space Shuttle will be replaced by “SpaceX,” a private space cargo company, as part of a $3.5 billion NASA resupply contract.
SpaceX (created by PayPal co-founder Elon Musk) launched the first privately-developed liquid fuel rocket into orbit 2,500 miles southwest of Hawaii with a 364-lb payload, and hopes to reduce the costs of transporting
all future cargo into space.
