Man who led chase from bridge to enter plea
EL PASO — A man accused of causing a high-speed chase after fleeing from officers at the Bridge of the Americas intends to enter a plea agreement with prosecutors, a lawyer said Friday.
Jonathan Bazemore was arrested for allegedly assaulting federal officers and causing in a high-speed chase from the immigration checkpoint.

Bazemore allegedly drove north on U.S. 54 until he crashed into a curb near Cassidy gate at Fort Bliss. He was arrested when he left his car. Officials discovered he was wearing body armor and had a magazine loaded with .45-caliber ammunition in his front pocket, according to the affidavit.
Bazemore said he fled because he feared he would be tortured and killed by the officers, the affidavit said.
