America, you pulled back for a 1-1 draw in the opening game of the group
stage. We didn't see it coming, you fought well and our goalie made a serious boo-boo. We all saw it. So now good luck.

I kind of feel bad for the English keeper. I've seen kids flub saves like that, but geeze, to do it in front of the whole world. If that one point ends up being the reason England doesn't win the Cup, the guy will be a goat forever. You can't live something like that down ever.

The truth is we probably don't have the manpower to get far, but we have Capello and there are great players like Gerard and Heskey who might hit form. We need everyone on form especially Rooney. Probably not but just maybe this will be an amusing byline in a successful campaign. Incidentally I'm thinking of proposing that what the keeper did was John Terry's fault, as will be any subsequent hiccups.
