So here we are in the 21st century and religious cults in the hinterlands of civilization are still murdering people through lack of basic health care and vaccinations. This happens in Africa as well, where Islamist extremists deny vaccinations, it happens in the frontiers of Pakistan, and thanks to luddite fools like Jenny McCarthy and friends, it also happens here in the US.
Jenny’s bogus resistance to vaccines is really every bit as superstitious and ignorant as the resistance found in the hinterlands of civilization where warlords and twisted religions rule.
BLANTYRE, Malawi — More than 100 members of a Christian religious sect have barricaded themselves in an abandoned building in southern Malawi over their refusal to give their children the measles vaccine, a regional health official said Wednesday.
Members of Seventh Day Apostolic Church say their doctrine forbids them from taking medication when they fall sick, as they believe prayer will bring divine healing.
