Demented wingnut blogger Pamela Geller has posted an utterly disingenuous “Heartfelt Plea” to muslims concerning the planned Cordoba building (MEGA-MOSQUE!) in downtown New York (GROUND ZERO!).

I am sure your motivation to build bridges was a good one. But as you can see, it has had the opposite effect. The public outcry of millions of Americans make plain the wound that has been reopened and the terrible pain this is causing for families, for patriots, for Muslims of conscience. It is unbearable. This surely was not your intent.

Geller has been screaming about teh evul muslim ‘mega mosque’ since the project was first mooted - and trying desperately to whip up anti-muslim fervour on the back of it - here she tries to say that while SHE is ok with the intentions of those involved, its the cries of the poor American people (who may tragically have somehow gotten the wrong idea!) that must be listened to.

And how’s this for a passive-aggressive threat:

I call upon your conscience, your goodness, your love of America, to move you to reconsider. More rallies will be staged — tens of thousands will show. People might get hurt in a sit-in trying to stop the ground breaking of a mosque looking down on Ground Zero. Why? In the interest of building bridges?

And this:

the terrible pain this is causing for families, for patriots, for Muslims of conscience

So, if you’re not OUTRAGED by the mosque, you aren’t a patriot. And definitely not a ‘muslim of conscience’. Even when Geller thinks she’s trying to be nice, she just cant stop the slurs.
