In Pakistan, 16 killed in convoy attack
This ongoing sectarian warfare is mostly one sided - it’s the Sunni vs Shia war we previously saw in Iraq, but in Pakistan and particularly Parachinar this war has been at low flame for several years.
When the standard terror groups run low on recruits or courage they switch from attacking the US in Afghanistan to waging genocidal sectarian warfare within Pakistan.
Militants ambushed the convoy, two Pakistani intelligence officials said, first using rocket-propelled grenades and then following with gunfire.
The officials asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
They said the convoy was mostly local Shiite Muslims traveling to Peshawar from Parachinar, the largest town in the district of Kurram.
