These beautiful flowers were seen on a walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens located at Burlington and neighbouring Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The RBG has a reputation for maintaining a first-rate horticultural collection and several acres of trails through natural lands. It is Canada’s largest botanical garden and one of the country’s premier cultural, education and scientific institutions. It has extensive educational programs and serves as an outdoor laboratory for scientific research. Of the Gardens’ 2,700 acres, about 297 acres are cultivated, while the rest remains a managed natural area. The Arboretum at the gardens contains the Katie Osborne Lilac Garden, which boasts the world’s largest living collection of lilacs.
