Two members of well-known families shot in Juárez - El Paso Times
Two members of prominent borderland families were killed yesterday in Juárez.
Roberto Urrea Caraveo, 37, and Fernando Alberto García Urrutia, 39, were shot dead outside a plaza in the Country Club neighborhood.
Urrea’s mother, Rosario Caraveo, is from an affluent family of bankers in Juárez. He was the nephew of a well-known women’s rights advocate Vicky Caraveo. Urrea, a graphic designer, was also the son of Roberto Urrea Loreto, who was president of the maquiladora association in the late 1990s, director of corporate at Rio Grande Travel Centers and more recently a manager at the Las Cruces Sun News.
