Juárez officer told agent he had ammo - El Paso Times
EL PASO — Donaldo A. López-Castro was headed to Juárez with more than 200 bullets when a U.S. Border Patrol agent pulled him over at the Zaragoza international bridge, according to an affidavit.
Border Patrol Agent Pedro Martinez was conducting outbound inspections when López-Castro drove up in a Mercury Sable at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Martinez asked him to declare whether he had any currency, weapons or ammunition.
“López-Castro stated that he was a traffic-enforcement officer in Ciudad Juárez and that he was in possession of ammunition,” said the affidavit by Tyler Kilday, special agent for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
