Diversity Is In The Eye Of The Beholder: A Day At Uni-Tea

It was billed as the most diverse tea party rally ever. For three hours Saturday afternoon, we waited for the diversity to show up.

Was Saturday’s Uni-Tea rally in Philadelphia a success? Well, it depends on your definition of “epic fail”.

The video they are showing as the Diversity Tea Party in Philadelphia is actually footage of the April 14th Tea Party Express event on April 14th in Boston featuring Sarah Palin.

If I didn't know better, if i just listening to this clip in isolation, I'd think Breitbart was normal. Here, he sounds reasonable. I'd largely agree with most of what he said. But there's the little problem of his history. The problem of his own history of race baiting that has intentionally stoked racist sentiments. He's a slightly more nuanced version of David Duke, and that ain't sayin' much. It seems he's intelligent enough to know how to lie "well" in front of a crowd. Evil, in the long term, is ultimately stupid. But in the short term can be very politically smart. We're in for some hard times.

Sad, very very sad.

Tea Party seems to be made up of white middle/senior aged people. (cue the crickets)

There was a "decent" editorial by Peggy Noonan in the WSJ this Saturday about Tea Party support. If you open the link (I don't have an on line subscription) I would suggest reading it.

This isn't the first time Fox has misrepresented their Tea Party movement's attendance by using video from a larger event. They have done this several times.
