This page is for anyone to post their well-wishes to ALBUSTEVE, who we all know underwent an extreme and painful procedure last Friday.

The plan is to post our well-wishes to Steve, and then we’ll let him know about the page and he can read all about how much we were thinking of him and hoping for the best for him.

Don’t be shy, be as mushy-gushy as you want (or not, as suits you), and a little humor in good taste (heh) would also be acceptable, I’m sure!

I bounced around the net looking for cool photos of advanced prosthetics, but only found ads and testimonials. There’s a lot of great stuff out there, some of it rather expensive but maybe your insurance will cover it.

The basic message is that, perhaps as a side effect of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, prosthetic technology has made huge progress in the last decade. Titanium, carbon fiber, microchip-controlled action, etc. etc.

The comeback trail is no walk in the park, but it’s heartening in ways you’ll slowly warm to. Ad astra per aspera.

Steve, if you need someone to come out to the compound and help take care of you while you’re getting better, all I need is gas money.

I will bring Haku the registered nurse dog, and my full iPod to annoy you with non-Stones music. There is a lot of Bob Dylan on there, so at least some of it you might enjoy.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you again soon. And I expect you to demand the best in high-tech Terminator-looking prosthetics, to scare the little kids with.

Hey Steve. I hope you are well. I pray for the best and even though I only “know” you via LGF, I have a feeling this is just another challenge you will overcome.

If you do get a prosthetic, make sure to get the V8 with a six speed. You will thank me later. :)

Just spoke to Steve… heavily drugged and but alive… no complications on the amputation, below the knee, right leg, still doesn’t have a release date, but so far so good.

Don’t know anything of what’s involved in your recoop period but I’m thinking it’s probably formidable. On a happy note, we’re on the cusp of a new football season and, if I’m not mistaken, you’re a fan. I heard today that Brett Favre’s plane has been detected in Minnesota airspace so things are getting interesting although I’m quite sure you’re a Cowboy fan. I like everything Texas but Brett’s a longtime favorite of mine.

Glad to hear all is going medically well. I know you’ve got a good support system at home, and clearly there’s folks here who miss you.

(During recovery, if you’re looking for things to listen to, keep in mind that I have a bud that trades shows — he’s gifted me with close to 60 different shows, a lot of Allmans, some Neil Young, quite a lot of Clapton, several killer Dominoes shows, some Experience recordings. Just drop a line to me, I’d be happy to burn copies for your enjoyment and recovery. All expense on my dime, of course. Just say the word.)

Looking forward to seeing you back in the pocket again.
